OCT 29th 2019 HELCHILD FEATURES at PASSIONATE TONGUES POETRY NIGHT!

Helchild is an artful satirist who nails their characters to the floor!

Pauline Pantsdown

Helchild’s 6th feature at Passionate Tongues is a Halloween special! Raising from the dead, notorious Elizabethan poet Christopher (Kit) Marlowe. Helchild performs a second only airing of their short poetic comedy play “The Tragical End of Christopher Marlowe”.

Christopher Kit Marlowe was a spy, a drunkard, a “sexual deviate”, a possible murderer and Queen Elizabeth I ‘s favorite playwright / poet…. But of course he was! He was also a major influence on Shakespeare and invented the style of play writing used by Shakespeare, who paid him many homages. Marlowe co-wrote Shakespeare’s first successful play and his death at only 29, was violent and mysterious. There are even some who believe that it was faked and that Shakespeare and Marlowe are one and the same. Behold, as Helchild allows Marlowe to take the stage and reveal the tragical truth! Plus open mic – sign up on the night and fabulous poet MC Michael Reynolds!

WHEN: 7.30pm, Tuesday 26th October WHERE: The Brothers Public House, Johnston Street, Fitzroy.
